Rise Against Hunger

Rise Against Hunger

  13 September 2017

Our lady of Fatima with Musgrave Centre hosted a Rise Against Hunger activation.

The initiative is a meal packaging program, a volunteer-based initiative that coordinates the assembly-line packaging of highly nutritious dehydrated meals comprised of rice, soy, vegetables, and 23 essential vitamins and minerals. The program is created to give dedicated individuals the opportunity to participate in a hands-on a hunger relief program and to become educated, engaged advocates for the countries hungry. The events also give volunteers hands-on experience in leadership development, team-building, relationship-building, creative problem-solving, and goal-setting and achievement.

These packaged meals will be used primarily to support school feeding programs. Hunger is the common thread among the countries most challenging issues. Targeting hunger specifically by supporting school feeding programs thereby leveraging support to other causes including poverty, disease, education, and the welfare of women and children.

A huge Thank you to all the volunteers for their time and support towards the great cause.
